Be Holy because I the Lord your God am Holy

God says: “Be holy, because I, the LORD your God, am holy.” (Leviticus 19:2)

Moses was tending the flocks of his father-in-law in the wilderness, when he saw a bush that was on fire. There were flames rising from the bush, but the bush was not being burnt up, so Moses decided to go and investigate. As he was approaching the bush, God called out to him: ‘“Moses! Moses! Do not come any closer. Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground .… I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.’ (Exodus 3:4-6).

“Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrongdoing.” (Habakkuk 1:13).

“There is no one holy like the LORD; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.” (I Samuel 2:2)
